STUDENTS IN NEED OF TUTORING
For lecture, students must be referred for tutoring by either meeting with the instructor of record or with Marianna to discuss their concerns.
For lab and clinical tutoring, students must be referred by a faculty member in the course or their preceptor from their clinical site.
In order to refer a student for any type of tutoring, please contact Marianna Tompourou, our Associate Director of Student Accessibility and Advising (first floor).
You can refer students to Jill by email at cummingsj@neco.edu
A couple of reminders about tutoring:
As a general rule, it takes about a week to place student with a tutor
Tutoring is typically done in small groups (no guarantee for individual tutoring)
Didactic and lab tutoring will be done by peer tutors. Given that tutors are also students, they are not expected to tutor during quiet study and exam periods.
Residents are only used for the OD1 group review sessions and referrals from preceptors in clinic.
